The Elder Scrolls 5 – Skyrim: Vampire “Mode” Details Revealed.
The Twilight movie series has definitely reignited people’s interests in vampires. Coincidence or not, the heavily anticipated RPG title The Elder Scrolls 5 – Skyrim is going to be featuring a vampire “mode”. Bethesda Softworks has officially announced that Skyrim will enable players to be tainted by the vampire infection. This is quite a development, considering the title is already dense with content. Enough quests are already packed in such a tiny space. Adding this vampire “mode” is truly cherry on top of that tasty Skyrim RPG ice cream sundae. The vampire mode does not only allow you to come up with a new character type. According to the game’s director, Todd Howard, “We are revealing that you can play a vampire in the game. So there are vampires, and some people have seen them, and run into them. But you can contract that disease and if you wait long enough, you’ll become a vampire, and that is a whole other mode of playing the game. There are various levels of being a vampire, the sun will affect you more, the more powerful you get, and you can control your vampirism by feeding on people when they are sleeping, you can sort of, you know, live the life of a vampire, in Skyrim, and kill dragons as a vampire.”It is interesting to speculate how your carefully designed and selected unique character will change if it is affected by the vampire infection. Speculations are also swarming around the question like “If my player becomes a vampire, will I get the ability to fly?” Vampires originally appeared in The Elder Scrolls 4 – Oblivion. It is good to see that the vampire mode will be available to players as an option instead of a sad result of the story line.
